Webster Printing & Packaging is seeking a full-time employee for our Large Format Printing department. This position is responsible for all aspects of the department including physical production, preparing substrates, printing using Oce Arizona UV printer and HP latex printer, mounting and laminating, die cutting using a Colex cutter, applying and weeding vinyl, canvas wraps and more. Knowledge of Caledera RIP, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign are a plus. Digital cutting experience with Colex, or similar CNC cutting tables. Most work is printed and then trimmed on a Colex digital cutter. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated team player who works well with their hands, in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment and who is determined to make every project his or her absolute best. This is a crossover position and may include helping in the small format bindery department or Digital Press room. Help in other production areas as needed. Responsibilities: Reads job tickets to understand the scope of the project; asks for clarification when needed. Performs quality assurance measures pre- and post-production. Prepares substrates for application, which may include loading and unloading printers, cutting, laminating, mounting, etc. Weeds excess vinyl from cut images; assembles canvas wrap projects, etc. Reports inventory levels and stock to be reordered to the department manager. Helps unload raw materials and continuously maintains a neat and clean work area. Works on different projects simultaneously. Maintains equipment with the utmost care and performs routine machine maintenance and minor repairs when necessary. Establishes and maintains effective relationships with other teammates using a courteous and professional manner. Experience: Must have recently worked in a sign shop or large format printing for at least one year. Will train the right person with some experience. Ability to problem solve. Works well independently and in a group. Know your way around a Windows PC, Onyx RIP, Adobe Indesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop. Basic math skills (adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing whole numbers and fractions and converting fractions to decimals and vice versa). Able to work well under pressure to output high volume, high-quality work. Able to stand for long periods of time. Able to lift 50 or more pounds. Must have the flexibility to lean over a waist-high table and use back forth hand motions to apply vinyl letters and graphics to a substrate.
