Seeking bass player for mostly original rock jams

Description

Guitarist and drummer in early 50's here, looking for bassist into jazzy funk/rock fusion a la The Meters, Funkadelic, maybe Khruangbin, Heliocentrics,..... maybe some earlier Chili Peppers,.... Not looking for a "pro" with no time to enjoy getting together and jamming. We look to build songs from improv; I (guitar) also have plenty of riffs to develop. It won't be 100% about "funk". Just trying to make sure that valuing rhythm, even if it's in 6 or 7, is understood. Likely a lot of instrumental material. Jam- record- refine- jam again- record. If you write lyrics and sing, great! Don't force it. Enjoy the process, develop material and eventually playing out will happen. Performing is not as high a priority as recording something to enjoy listening to. It probably would help if you're into "headphone music", some jazzy, spacey, psychedelic jams, but also some minimalist, tribal rhythm, world beat, etc. Not looking to do Amricana/roots; maybe touch some blues, but avoid 1-4-5 mind numbing boredom. I have a non-smoking basement space in the above zip code, available weeknights during the summer months, 6-9:30ish, but weekend afternoons are best. Hoping to meet up once/week.
