Parker’s initial success came in Canada with two long-term appearances on YTV’s The Next Star, a singer-performer contest show with mentors like Damon Sharpe and Shawn Desman. Pre-pandemic, Parker collabed with lofi-veterans Board-Man, Burbank, and Sad Boy with a Laptop. After seeing some traction amounting to more than three million streams on Spotify, the pandemic forced Parker back into his dorm-room and what emerged was a new take on the pop genre he grew up on.
