Hello! I am Dr. Muhammad Lutfor Rahman, Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Information System at California State University San Marcos. My graduate student Daniel Timko and I invite you to participate in a research study involving SMS phishing texts. The purpose of the study is to analyze and categorize SMS phishing messages and to provide a data set for future research. Participation in this study involves: Navigating to our website created for this research, and filling in a submission form detailing information about an SMS phishing message you have received. This includes a screenshot of the full message in your phones' inbox, the message text, and the time when your received the message. No registration required for submission. You must be at least 18 years of age and an internet user to participate in this study. Participation is completely voluntary. You may choose not to take part or may leave the study at any time. Your decision on whether to participate in this study will not affect your current or future relations with anyone at CSUSM or future care you may receive from CSUSM. As a token for participation, we will be awarding a 50$ gift card to one random submission out of every 1000 submissions. In order to participate, submit a SMS phishing message through our AddSmish Page. We will announce the winner(s) at the end of the event period on May 17th 2022, declaring the post(s) that have won an amazon giftcard.
