Salem Student Musicians Bring Their Sounds To The City All Week

SALEM, MA — The return of Salem school arts productions for the public continues this week with a pair of shows open to all. The Salem High School Jazz Band and the Collins Middle School Jazz Band will present a jazz concert at the Salem Willows on Saturday at 2 p.m. The free concert will feature guest artist Jay Daly from the North Shore Music Theater. Cynthia Napierkowski will direct the show. In case of rain, the show will be moved to the high school. On Wednesday, "Arts in the Evening" will feature three separate concerts in back-to-back style at Salem High. The choruses will perform in the auditorium at 6 p.m., the bands will perform at 6:45 in the field house and the orchestras will perform at 7:30 p.m. in the auditorium. "It's a wonderful night of showcasing our amazing kids and the growth that is made from their beginner groups in 4th grade to their advanced level groups in high school," Salem Superintendent Steve Zrike said.
