CLARKSTOWN, NY — A New York City man faces felony drug charges after a traffic stop in Clarkstown Friday. State troopers said they stopped the 2010 Honda he was driving on Town Line Road for a violation of the state's vehicle and traffic laws at 6:11 p.m. Friday.
Police said the Honda was not registered. The operator was identified as Daniel B. Amster, 20.
The troopers conducted an inventory search of the vehicle before it was towed from the scene. They located a plastic baggie containing Psilocybin mushrooms and an unidentifiable white powdery substance inside of plastic capsules in unmarked medicine containers, police said.
Amster was subsequently arrested and charged with the felonies of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd degree and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 2nd degree.
He was released on an appearance ticket and several traffic tickets.
