STAMFORD, CT — The Stamford Police Association will hold a fundraiser on Friday, May 6 for fellow officer, Doug Robinson. Robinson, a 33-year veteran of the Stamford Police Department and a hockey coach at Westhill High School for 23 years, was diagnosed with parotid gland cancer two years ago. The fundraiser will be take place from 4 p.m. to midnight at the Knights of Columbus, located at 507 Shippan Ave. A $20 donation is requested. There will be raffles, t-shirts and music. A GoFundMe has also been set up for Robinson by SPA President David O'Meara. Since April 1, $24,340 has been raised out of a $25,000 goal. "Doug has spent most of his life helping to shape the future. He is loved by most and respected by all," the fundraiser description says.
