PSEG To Upgrade Massapequa Electrical Grid

MASSAPEQUA, NY — PSEG Long Island announced that it will begin work to improve the reliability of the electrical grid in Massapequa and North Massapequa this month. The work is scheduled to begin early this month and last for about four months. Contractors will be working on lines in Massapequa and North Massapequa, as well as Seaford. The work is part of PSEG's storm hardening effort called "Power On." "Electric reliability is more important than ever to our customers and that's why PSEG Long Island is strongly focused on strengthening the electric lines that directly power homes and businesses," said Peggy Keane, interim president and COO of PSEG Long Island. "This Power On infrastructure improvement project in Seaford, Massapequa and North Massapequa is part of our ongoing, multi-year effort to continue to improve electric reliability for our customers." The work includes installing more durable poles that can withstand stronger winds, putting in more durable wire, replacing deteriorated equipment and more.
