MIDTOWN MANHATTAN, NY — A fight between two Harlem men over a Times Square arcade prize ended with one stabbing the other to death on Saturday, according to police and reports.
Jesse Armstrong, 41, stands accused of stabbing Allen Stanford at Dave & Buster's on West 42nd Street between Seventh and Eighth avenues shortly before 11 p.m., police said.
Their argument began when Stanford reached toward a high shelf for a prize that fell and hit a child with Armstrong at the arcade, the New York Times reported.
An ensuing fist fight turned fatal when Armstrong pulled out a knife and stabbed Stanford in the chest, police told the Times.
Medics rushed Stanford, 39, to Mount Sinai Morningside Hospital but doctors were unable to save his life, according to the NYPD.
Armstrong was arrested on a murder charge Sunday morning, police said.
Stanford lived at the NYCHA Rangel Houses in upper Harlem and Armstrong lives in the NYCHA Grant Houses in West Harlem, according to police.
Armstrong was arraigned in New York Criminal Court Sunday and held without bail, court records show.
