The Greater Washington Chinese Culture Summer Camp to be held from June 27 to July 1 is now accepting registrations To promote the Chinese cultural curriculum into mainstream schools, the Washington Metropolitan Confucius Memorial Ceremony Committee (WMCMCC) and the Li Education Foundation recruit junior high school students and primary school students from mainstream schools to learn traditional Chinese cultural activities, and promote the traditional virtues of respecting teachers and valuing morality. WMCMCC will hold a Chinese Cultural camp from June 27th (Monday) to July 1st (Friday) 09:00 - 17:00 (9:00 am to 5:00 pm daily) at the Culture Center of TECRO (901 Wind River Lane, Gaithersburg, MD), The 2022 Greater Washington Chinese Culture Summer Camp will be held by a team with more than ten years of summer camp experience in the Greater Washington area. Students between the ages of seven and fourteen (included) are welcome to participate. Registration fee is $30 per person; five-day camp fee is $450. Courses include: introduction to Confucian memorial ceremony, folk dance (introduction to Yi-woo, traditional dance); folk sports (diabolo, rope jumping); folk art and handicrafts; calligraphy, abacus; multimedia design, etc. Teaching is mainly in English. There will be a practice to participate in the September Chinese Culture Multimedia Contest (abundant prize award). Lunch and snacks are provided daily. At the end of camp there will be an exhibition, performance shows and dinner.
