BRIDGEPORT, CT — Bridgeport has settled a 2016 wrongful search case with Shannon Calhoun for $140,000, reported the Connecticut Post.
The Bridgeport City Council approved the settlement this week, after officials had tried unsuccessfully to have the case dismissed.
Calhoun, who is currently serving a prison sentence for an unrelated incident, had filed a federal lawsuit against the city claiming his civil rights had been violated.
In the lawsuit, he claimed that police officers searched his Ridgewood Place home without a warrant, while the officers were looking for a suspect from a shooting.
