A celebration of local authors, where readers can connect with the writers in their neighborhood! Join us for a local author meet & greet, featuring local writers of all different genres—from poetry to local history, novels to children's literature! At each event, we host a small group of authors from the area who are eager to meet you, their future reader, and tell you about their books. Featured AuthorsJudi Lauren | Jordie and Joey Fell From the Sky (Middle Grade Sci-Fi)Judi Lauren has been reading since she could first hold a book. Following her passion for working with books, she became an assistant editor at Entangled Publishing and is now an editor at Radish Fiction. When not editing, she writes books for kids and teens about family, friendship, and surviving impossible things. Barnard Sims | The Southern Awakening: A Black Man's Guide to Liberating the Rural South (Memoir/Social Justice)Barnard Sims, whose pen name is Barnard the Barber, is the retired owner of Barnard’s Hair Salon. Barnard was a cosmetology instructor at Athens Technical College, and as he earned an associate’s degree in public services , he prepared many students pass the State Board exams to become licensed professionals themselves. William & Ann Stevens | Dalton and Grace, Whimsical Short Stories of Life in Charleston (Short Stories)Bill and Ann Stevens live in Daniel Island, a suburb of Charleston, South Carolina. They enjoy reading, writing, travel, giving back to their community, and spending time with their four children and ten grandchildren. Emily Wingfield | Corner of Fishbourne and Ashley (poetry)Ever since she was a little girl, Emily has known that the one thing she knew she wanted to do in the future was help people. She is driven to spur positive change in the lives of others as well as change that will help create a more equitable, just, and inclusive world. As a first step in achieving this, she is currently pursuing a BA in history from Arcadia University.
