Press release from the Colorado Springs Police Department: May 3, 2022 Update On April 30, 2022, the victim of this shooting succumbed to his injures. The victim has not been identified at this time. This is being investigated as the 18th homicide in Colorado Springs in 2022. At this time last year there were nine homicides in the City of Colorado Springs. Additional information will continue to be released as appropriate. Original On April 25, 2022, at approximately 10:01 A.M., the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) received a call of a shooting in the 4300 block of Airport Rd. Officers arrived on scene and discovered that one victim had been shot. The victim was transported to a local hospital and is being treated for their injuries. Due to the nature of the incident, the CSPD Violent Crimes Section responded and assumed responsibility of the investigation. Detectives are actively working to develop information about the victim of this homicide and identify those involved. No arrests have been made and additional information will be released as appropriate.
