She started embroidery as a young girl and practiced on dish towels. She moved on to embellishments and even created a hand stitched crazy quilt. Stena teaches a variety of fiber arts along with ceramics, printmaking, drawing, painting, and other mediums at Lanesboro Public Schools. She has five children who keep her in mending from time to time. She lives on a three-generation farm that raises a few beef cattle and poultry. Stena is also certified to wild harvest ten varieties of edible mushrooms. She and her family are in the process of renovating their 110-year-old barn to grow mushrooms year round, adding to the mushrooms they are also cultivating outdoors. Questions for Stena?
