HINSDALE, IL – A Hinsdale man who is accused of uttering racial slurs in La Grange last year was arrested again a few days ago in Hinsdale, according to reports. Richard Martinez, 33, who lives in the 600 block of The Lane, was charged with disorderly conduct. Hinsdale police said they were called about a suspicious man, later identified as Martinez, about 3 p.m. Thursday in downtown. Martinez made comments of an alarming and threatening nature to staff at Il Poggiolo Ristorante, 8 E. First St., police said. He was released and given a date to appear in court. Patch has filed a public records request for the police report. In October, Martinez was charged with simple assault, resisting an officer and disorderly conduct in connection with an incident at a La Grange restaurant. He was accused of using slurs against African Americans, Jewish people and gays. He also told officers that he would "cut their throat in the toilet," police said. Patch wrote a story based on the police department's report on the incident.
