HIRING NOW! Anchorage Fleet Mechanic Growth Opportunity Knik Sweeping was a recently awarded a new 6-year sweeping contract and is looking for a Fleet Mechanic to join our team and grow with us. Competitive pay at $30 per hour, +/- DOE. Knik Sweeping is a small, family-owned company that will provide the right candidate an opportunity to run a diverse and active shop. The position will provide consistent and reasonable hours with overtime opportunities during the busy sweeping months. The Fleet Mechanic will lead maintenance and up-keep for a fleet of mechanical and vacuum street sweepers, dump trucks, water trucks, and trackless units. Routine maintenance, emergency repairs and remote fleet support throughout the Anchorage Bowl all are part of this exciting career opportunity. Minimum Requirements Minimum 3 years relevant experience Valid driver’s license Pre-employment drug test Own tools, specialty tools provided Must be dependable, punctual, and have a strong work ethic Must be able to lift 50 pounds Strong communication and service skills under pressure and stressful situations Team-player and able to maintain cooperating working relationships with other staff, management and community members Attention to detail Preferred Experience Diesel experience Experience in diagnosing and fixing sweep trucks Experience in diagnosing and fixing Trackless sidewalk equipment Knowledge and ability to troubleshoot and fix hydraulic systems Knowledge and ability to troubleshoot and fix of electronic systems Knowledge of computer maintenance programs Competitive hourly rate starts at $30/hour, +/- based on the candidates’ experience. Overtime opportunity in the spring and early summer. Knik Sweeping does not currently offer additional benefits.
