Here are the top three stories today in Charleston: The Charleston School District is preparing to cover a $35.7 million hole in the budget. Interim Superintendent Don Kennedy presented three different scenarios for how the district could cover the budget shortfall during a board meeting on Apr. 25. The district will be meeting today to discuss specific details during an audit and finance meeting. Click the link to review the three proposals in detail. (Live 5 News WCSC)The Charleston City Council has decided not to give the Charleston Wine + Food Festival accommodations tax fund grant money this year. The decision was made due to the festival moving its flagship culinary village to North Charleston. The festival has been enjoying approximately $500,000 in funds since 2017. (Charleston Post Courier)The North Charleston Police Department is investigating three shootings that occurred in the morning hours on Sunday. One man was killed during a shooting that occurred at a Ladson apartment complex, three people were shot in a vehicle near the Highway 52 Connector, and a 23-year-old man was shot in the 3300 block of Spruill Road.
