Nassau Coronavirus Cases By Community: No Deaths In 2 Weeks

NASSAU COUNTY, NY — Long Island has finally made it to phase four of reopening, but people in the area are still contracting the coronavirus. However, the numbers are much smaller than they were in the spring, and the number of people dying from the virus is nearly zero. Since the first confirmed case March 5, 44,172 Nassau County residents have been confirmed to have contracted the coronavirus and 2,195 people have died. The last Nassau death from the virus was recorded Aug. 8, and the number of people being admitted to the hospital for the disease is also down. Still, cases continue to climb. Seven Nassau communities have more than 1,000 confirmed cases, and another is steadily approaching that grim milestone. Hempstead, the hardest-hit community, has 2,400.
