Press release from the Mecklenburg County Government: 5/2/2022 Description1 Starting Monday, May 2, at-home COVID-19 test kit distribution at libraries and public health locations will change. The new schedule is available on our website here and below. One test will be provided to each County resident at no cost. No ID or insurance is required. Tests will be available while supplies last with a maximum of four tests per household. No appointment is necessary. Because at-home tests do not require clinical supervision, a prescription from a health care provider is not required. There are several ways to find testing sites and free at-home test kits close to you: Visit the NC DHHS Find My Testing Place page Use the MCPH COVID-19 Testing and Vaccination Sites map Order free at-home tests at COVIDTests.gov Visit one of the Test to Treat locations around Mecklenburg County that allow individuals to get tested and get treatment in one appointment.
