TUCSON, AZ — Two women in their 40s were killed in Tucson on Monday in what police said appear to be unrelated slayings.
Alma Daniela Gomez, 40, was killed early Monday morning, according to Tucson police.
Christy Kaplowitch, 44, was found dead Monday evening.
Around 2 a.m. Monday, Gomez was shot in a house in the 100 block of West Kentucky Street, according to police.
She was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. Police do not believe the shooting was random.
Shortly after 7 p.m. on Monday, family members found Kaplowitch inside an apartment, police said. She had suffered obvious physical trauma and was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police.
Police could not find Klapowitch's gray 2016 Ford Fiesta at the apartment complex, so it has been reported as stolen.
As of Wednesday morning, there were no suspects in police custody in either case.
Tucson police ask that anyone with information about either slaying call 88-CRIME to share that information with police. Tipsters have the option of remaining anonymous.
