Here are the top three stories today in Atlanta: Applications are currently open for a private guaranteed income program for Black women across the state. The In Her Hands initiative will be giving 650 Black women $850 a month for two years to tackle income inequality. The initiative is being privately funded through a $13 million fund. To qualify, one must be over 18-years-old, have been impacted by COVID-19, live within the community site map, and make less than two times the federal poverty line. (11Alive.com WXIA) The City of Atlanta has approved a $999,000 settlement in a police shooting case. The money is being paid to Noel Hall after he was shot by a police officer in Feb. 2017. The officer who shot Hall, Sgt. Mathieu Cadeau, was fired from the department and sentenced to 30 years of probation. (AM 920 The ANSWER) Protestors took to the Atlanta streets on Tuesday after the Supreme Court confirmed the authenticity of a leaked draft opinion overturning Roe v. Wade. The opinion was leaked on Monday night. Protestors are demanding continued access to abortion services and women's rights.
