Description

Suggestions to help you find Vonnie.. Spread some of her/ his used litter outside your door to help guide her/him home and to give her/him the courage to approach your home. Do NOT put the litter box outside, just spread the used litter outside. Add more after each storm to keep the scent trail home fresh. Indoor cats are often found hiding within a few hundred yard radius of home so FLOOD that area in all 4 directions with fliers. If there are no sightings after the cat has been missing for 5 days, or if your cat normally goes outside, expand the flier posting area to at least 1/2 mile in all 4 directions. Put them in supermarkets, stores and any places where people gather. The more fliers you post the better. Make it impossible for anybody in the area to not see them. Take the fliers down when your cat is found. A super bright flashlight will be needed to look under porches, in sheds, hedges, trees, garages etc. www.missingpetpartnership.org is a free site with missing and displaced cat behavior information and excellent recovery tips. An affiliated site is www.missionreunite.org There is a Facebook page with Lost&Found posts, Maine Lost Cat Recovery. They also have tips and volunteers that are very helpful. Many newspapers run Lost ads free. Check with the newspapers in your area to see if they will run Lost/Found ads free. Shelters throughout the state are listed at www.coastalhumanesociety.org If you have had your cat microchipped they will contact you if somebody takes it to the shelter. Westbrook uses the ARLGP in Stroudwater. Copy your post to www.nextdoor.com Include the date your cat went missing in your post. Good luck
