Description
This is Herbie, a [roughly] 40 year old Orange Winged Amazon that I'm rehoming!
Please read all about Herbie below:
I adopted Herbie a little over a year ago. He has been taken to Kings Row Pet Hospital and was seen by Dr. Shannon, who diagnosed Herbie with arthritis, but otherwise has a clean bill of health. It does not impact his life and I have moved his perches around to make mobility easier for him. I did ask about the out of place feather and was advised to leave it alone as it isn't bothering him and could do more harm if messed with. I just recently trimmed his nails and beak as well.
Herbie is quite the chatterbox and social with other birds so I want him to go to a home with other birds. I will also require the adoptee to have experience with large birds or Amazons. He is not hand tamed, I have been slowly working with him over the past year, and he will step up if he gets on the floor, but does not like fabrics and bites if you try to pick him up or pet him. He requires patience and someone who understands that he may never be a cuddly bird.
I am not rehoming him for that reason. Since covid and having a baby, I have began working more and have less time to invest in Herbie. It is hard to give him the attention he needs, as well as my other birds and my baby. He deserved to be in a home where someone has time for him.
Herbie barks like a dog, quacks, says no, hello, bye bye, hi Herbie, Herbie and more! He does also have an extremely obnoxious alarm sound he does, lol.
Comes with his cage, food bowls and all of his toys. I really want to see him go to a great home. Small rehoming fee will apply.
