APPLY BELOW: HeyTutor has partnered with a school district in Federal Way, WA and we're looking for paraprofessionals/tutors to assist primarily with life skills courses as well as English and Math tutoring. You'll be working with special needs students from grades K-12. Note: As a paraprofessional working with students with special needs, you may be asked to perform the following duties: Support class instruction with a student or small group Verbally de-escalate a student Record and track specific student behaviors Assist a student with hygiene during meal times or restroom breaks Push or maneuver a wheelchair or other equipment Each site has different needs and requirements. Are you willing and able to be flexible with the duties required in this position? You must be ready to start by mid-February. You must be comfortable passing an IN-PERSON background check. SCHEDULE M-F 7:10am-2:10pm Grades 9-12 (6 paraprofessionals) M-F 8:20am-3:20pm Grades 6-9 (1 paraprofessional) M-F 8:55am-3:55pm Grades K-5 (5 paraprofessionals) REQUIREMENTS Tutoring experience (great at working with kids) Experience working with children with special needs is preferred, but not required (training provided) 4-year degree or some college experience Comfortable working in a classroom setting Clear background check (provided on-site by school district) Covid-19 Vaccination Ready to start with one to two weeks
