Recruiting volunteers for AmeriCorps RSVP (Retired and Senior Volunteer Program) Age 55+ Sales Floor Volunteer Job Description – 4 hour position shifts are 9:30 – 1:30 and 12:30 – 5:30. Open Store is open Tues/Wed/Th/Fri/Sat JOB DESCRIPTION: Greet volunteers and advise them of current sales or events. Help customers to find items and put items in dressing rooms or hold at front for them. Complete sales on cash register. QUALIFICATIONS: Possess excellent listening, communication and interpersonal skills. Punctual and consistent in attendance. After initial training, have the ability to operate cash register and credit card machine guidebook at register for reference). Able to work in a fast paced environment. Able to balance cash receipts with monies collected. INFORMATION ABOUT THE AMERICORPS SENIOR VOLUNTEER PROGRAM The AmeriCorps Retired and Senior Volunteer Program is the nation's largest network for volunteers age 55 and older. The growing segment of our older population is vital to strengthening our communities through their interest in helping others. Our focus is to incorporate meaningful volunteer opportunities that provide purpose and a way to give back to the community. Current RSVP volunteer positions include local food banks, congregate meal sites, non-profit thrift stores (shopping assistants, sorters, warehouse assistant, furniture assemblers in a fully equipped build shop), reading/enrichment/tutoring/ mentorship groups, museums, and administrative positions throughout the Greater Tacoma, Puyallup, Graham, Lakewood and Gig Harbor Peninsula. We are continually bringing on new and unique volunteer opportunities that help our community.
