Material Handler Job Description: A Material Handler, or Warehouse Associate, handles, moves and stores various non-hazardous materials within a warehouse. Their main duties include loading and unloading different transport items, raw materials/packaging components, recording inventory statuses and making sure deliveries properly match purchase orders. Operating a Stand Up Forklift. Basic warehouse knowledge recommended; demonstrated success working in a production environment is helpful Material Handler duties and responsibilities A Material Handler is required to work with a team of people with efficiency. Some of their typical day-to-day responsibilities include: • Verifying the accuracy of quantity and quality of incoming deliveries • Labeling every product and placing them accordingly • Identifying and locating the right products during the delivery process • Keeping a well-maintained and updated account of stock and inventory • Keeping all material handling equipment in the best condition by conducting regular maintenance • Conveying purchasing requirements and keeping data on the availability of products in short supply • Taking cycle counts and inventory for the purchasing department • Operating a Standup Forklift • Cleans warehouse area daily • Other duties as required and assigned Physical Requirements • Frequent lifting and carrying of product weighing 25 to 50 pounds • Frequent pushing or pulling of material and/or equipment • Frequent standing when working and when driving powered industrial equipment • Frequent walking, primarily in the warehouse • Regular reaching, bending, stooping, kneeling and twisting
