Di Stefano Landscaping is the top Landscaping Provider in Burlington and the surrounding areas. We have an opening for motivated individual with a high degree of flexibility and attention to detail. This is a second shift opportunity due to the hours of industry. Experience with front end loaders and basic mechanic experience is greatly valued but not necessary. We will train the right candidate! Job Description: Reports to: Shop/Fleet Manager To ensure that the company continues to thrive and makes a profit by: Maintaining Preventative Maintenance Program for all trucks and Equipment Keeping the yard organized so everything is accessible and easy to find and runs efficiently. Manage a safe yard Receiving and stocking material shipments: pallets, nursery stock, bulk materials as needed Preloading trucks for next day with requested materials Washing trucks, trailers and equipment weekly Upholding the company’s image in the market. Key Job Responsibilities Maintaining Preventative Maintenance program for all trucks, trailers and equipment Checking all fluids, lights, belts etc to ensure vehicles are safe to operate the following day and communicating the severity of deficiency to fleet/shop manager 6 trucks/trailers/ pieces of equipment per week Organizing the Yard Assign everything a space in the yard Making sure piles are tidy and not spilling out into the parking lot Pallets of bulk material are stocked and accessible and organized Good flow in place so crews can load up and leave the yard efficiently You are responsible to be sure yard is fully stocked at all times. Mulches, soils, stone etc Organizing all returned materials in the yard, stone pallets, plants, etc. Managing a Safe Yard Making sure there are no hazardous materials left out No loose or dangling pallets Trees are propped upright and secure in nursery Others as noticed and assigned Preloading Trucks with materials for following day Operating equipment in safe manner to preload materials for following day Communicating any preloads not able to do before end of shift via email to ensure plan is in place Enabling crews roll out of the yard on time Washing Fleet Weekly This works hand in hand with maintaining company image Our vehicles are representative of who we are and these should be clean and organized at all times Checking Inventories Perform weekly checks of inventories in containers, trailers and shops Communicating needs to appropriate manager Uphold the company’s image in the market. Ensure equipment, and yard quality and appearance meet company standards. Develop, maintain and enforce standards of cleanliness and organization Being positive and professional when making deliveries Continual improvement Make time for your own development with continuing education of at least 10 hrs per year. Ex: osha courses, welding/fab courses etc Follows company SOPs (standard operating procedures) and identify and assist in writing new ones Evaluate equipment and material utilization and make recommendations for purchases and sales Key Performance Measures Fleet in state of readiness at all times Crews out of yard by target times Materials stocked and organized Appearance of yard Safety – no accidents or damage Identifying at least one significant continuous improvement idea quarterly. Ex. New tool to reduce labor, new standard operating procedure Qualifications: Must be able to work evening and/or weekend hours Flexible shift as long as within the above schedule Must have clean MVR Must be able to pass preemployment checks to include MVR and drug test as applicable Must be able to work in inclement weather Must be able to perform physical aspect of the job Must have ability to operate on their own with little supervision Benefits Competitive Salary Health/Dental/Vision insurance available - waiting period may apply Annual Safety Stipend Great Environment PROFIT SHARING PROGRAM Please email resume or text number below to set up an interview.
