Political Campaign Looking for Election Day Workers

We are looking for enthusiastic canvassers to talk to voters and distribute campaign literature for a Democratic political candidate running for the state legislature on election day (Tuesday, May 17th). As a canvasser, you will be responsible for either canvassing voters door-to-door or standing outside/near a designated polling place in campaign attire and engaging with voters as they walk in to cast their vote. If you’ve never canvassed before, our staff will train you on the script and the regulations around canvassing around polling places. All equipment (clipboards, pens, signs, t-shirt, water, hand sanitizer, masks, etc.) will be provided. Canvass shifts run for 4.5 hours. There are three shifts; however, we highly encourage people to work the entirety of election day. The shifts are as follows: - 6:30a-11a - 11a-3:30p - 3:30p-8p Lunch will be provided to people working the 11-3:30 shift. Once again, it is highly encouraged that you work all three shifts. This position pays $15/hour. Canvasser Responsibilities: - Canvassing and handing campaign literature to voters outside polling places - Canvassing voters door-to-door - Displaying knowledge of the campaign and important issues at the state level Canvasser Requirements - Ability to work outdoors. - Ability to walk and stand for long periods. - Excellent interpersonal skills.
