NYS Required Safe Boatiing Course - $1 © craigslist - Map data © OpenStreetMap Certified NYS Safe Boating Instructor will work with you to get the NYS required Safe Boating certificate for you and your group. You provide: 1. a Covid safe venue for family or group of friends 2. a guaranteed minimum of 6 people 3. Minimum age: 12 years-old Note: Boaters over the age of 18 must pay and additional $10.00 to New York State for the certificate. Persons under the age of 18 when taking the course will not be charged this fee. I provide instruction, testing, and guaranteed money-back success for all participants Rates are negotiable based on individual or family rates, and my travel time Credentials: 40 years of boating experience on Long Island and upstate waters Member of the US CoastGuard Auxiliary 10 years experience teaching this course We select a mutually agreeable date; NYS requires a full day (6-8 hrs as needed) to be registered at least two weeks in advance of the course date. Motorboats Under a new law known as Brianna's Law, all motor boat operators born on or after Jan. 1, 1993 will need a boating safety certificate beginning in 2020. Those born on or after Jan. 1, 1988 will need a boating safety certificate beginning in 2022. Those born on or after Jan. 1, 1983 will need a boating safety certificate beginning in 2023.
