SURF LESSON INSTRUCTORS/SURF CAMP COUNSELORS Learn to Surf LA is looking for Surf Camp Counselors and Surf Instructors to join us this summer. This is ideal for someone who wants fun, exciting and rewarding summer work. Job Description: -Scheduling is flexible and part time, up to 30+ hours per week. -We run lessons seven days a week between the hours of 8am and 6pm. -Camp hours are Mon - Fri, from approximately 9:00 am to 3:30pm. -We provide all the gear (foam longboards and wetsuits) -Lessons are taught to all ages and experience levels -All instructors will train with us to learn our technique before teaching on your own (you can use whatever technique works best for you) -Supervise surf campers (ages 5 - 17) both while surfing and while on the beach -Provide surf instruction -Engage in beach games when campers are on break from surfing -Keep the base camp area tidy and presentable -Make sure gear is clean and stored at the end of each day You'll be a good fit if you can say YES to the following questions: -Do you have a good understanding of the mechanics of surfing? -Do you have experience instructing people to surf? -Do you enjoy teaching? -Are you responsible and reliable? -Do you like dealing with people? Required Qualifications: -Minimum of 3 years surfing experience, and/or at least an intermediate skill level of surfing. You must love the ocean and water and want to share that passion and knowledge with others! -Experience working with children (for camp) -Good attention to detail -Positive, upbeat personality (customer service experience is a plus) -Responsible, punctual, self-starter attitude -Excellent communication skills -CPR and First Aid Certification Please note that this is a seasonal opportunity, although we do operate year round and there are opportunities for work during the winter season. COMPANY DESCRIPTION Learn to Surf LA has been providing surf lessons since 2002 in Santa Monica, Venice, Manhattan Beach, and Malibu. We also run a summer youth surf camp in Santa Monica/Venice. We pride ourselves on providing top quality instruction and customer service. Our instructors are an integral part of our team and we are looking for some awesome new additions!
