Manson Growers, an apple packing warehouse located in beautiful Manson, WA, is hiring! If you are a motivated and experienced packing line mechanic who would like to be a part of a successful team, we would like to talk with you. SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES: • Maintain and repair packing line equipment which includes various hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and mechanical systems. • Maximize efficiency of equipment through preventive maintenance and general performance monitoring. • Minimize operational down time related to mechanical issues or malfunctions. • Respond quickly and professionally to equipment issues identified by packing line team members. Communicate progress, as necessary, to management or team members whose role is impacted by the repair or maintenance work. • Document maintenance and repairs in online tracking system (CMMS). • Identify opportunities to improve performance of packing line equipment in a cost-effective manner. • Contact and interact with vendors to design solution, obtain parts, and schedule work, where necessary. • Manage use of chemicals, including those used when packing line is running, as well as, those used for sanitation purposes. This includes documenting storage, usage, and safety information (SDS). • Monitor and manage costs associated with parts and repair work done by internal teams and/or vendor service technicians. QUALIFICATIONS: Education, Training, & Experience • High school diploma or GED • 3-5 years of position-related experience with demonstrated success • Training and experience working with PLCs is a plus • Training/certification in GMP and HAZCOM Language & Communication • Ability to communicate effectively (speaking, reading, writing) in English; Ability to communicate in Spanish is helpful, but not required. • Ability to use email Technical & Math • Experience with various types of welding. Metal fabrication skills are a plus. • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) • Ability to use a laptop or personal computer and web browser to research and purchase equipment and parts • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, fractions, and common decimals • Understanding of rates, ratios, and percentages • Awareness of how to interpret charts and graphs Physical Abilities • Able to lift 50 lbs regularly. Occasionally may need to lift and/or move 100 lbs. • Work will involve the following: o Sitting, standing, walking, crawling, stooping, crouching, kneeling, reaching, climbing o Using hands to: finger, hold/handle, and feel objects o Using eyes for close vision and distance vision and to distinguish colors (wiring, warning lights, etc.) o Cold and hot temperatures, depending upon the season and the location. Work may require extended periods in refrigerated rooms or working around large air dryers (heat).
