Description
Hello,
I have been accepted to a very competitive health professionals graduate program and need help with finding someone willing to volunteer to be my cosigner for my student loans. I do not have any family or friends who are able to help me with this and I am scared I will miss this opportunity to better my life and the lives of others. My ability to repay the loan after graduation is not a challenge as I plan to work for a community health center and be reimbursed by the federal government.
I can not emphasize enough how much of an opportunity this is for me and for the community. From a racial justice lens, becoming a primary care provider will address disparities in the number of Black PAs currently practicing. Studies show that patients have better outcomes when taken care of by providers of their same racial and ethnic background.
Along with being able to provide care to underserved populations in Seattle, this will greatly change my own socioeconomic status. It will move me from making less than 50% of the median Seattle income to making at the median income.
This is why it is my hope to find someone willing to volunteer to be my cosigner for my student loans as a form of reparations.
If this speaks to you, please do not hesitate to reach out.
Thank you
