Description

WELLESLEY, MA — Wellesley is offering free parking at all bagged 2-hour meters in town until Jan. 1. Shoppers are encouraged to visit Wellesley's retail and restaurant areas during the holiday season. The 2-hour meters are primarily located in the Wellesley Square and Wellesley Hills business districts and along Central and Washington Streets. To keep traffic moving and allow for frequent parking turnover, the 2-hour parking limit at bagged meters will be strictly enforced by Wellesley parking attendants. After 2 hours, cars have to leave the street entirely, or be ticketed. Drivers may not move to other free parking spaces on the street for another two hours. This will also result in a ticket as parking attendants are monitoring cars. The town is reminding residents that parking fees must be paid at all non-bagged meters. The free parking is only available for customers, employees of Wellesley restaurants and businesses may park in municipal and commuter rail lots.
