The Actors Theatre Workshop (“ATW”) is an award-winning non-profit theatre, community center and educational institution that teaches innovative educational techniques and theatre principles. Since 1990, ATW has flourished as an artistic leader in the field, producing educational programs and theatre productions that support individuals from all walks of life, from NYC homeless children and the elderly, to aspiring and professional theatre artists. We are thrilled to offer this creative project for volunteers on: Thursday, May 19th 11:00-4:00pm Friday, May 20th 11:00-4:00pm Saturday, May 21st 11:00-4:00pm The ATW Painting Project is a wonderful representation of our mission in action: bringing together individuals from all walks of life to connect with one another, share their talents, and give back to the larger community. We look forward to seeing you at this event to celebrate as a community and thank you for affirming ATW’s mission in the world! We will prepare for painting and repainting the theatre’s lobby, kitchen and office in preparation for our flagship Builders of the New World program, which has educated over 2,500 NYC homeless youth. Spend the day at a professional theatre and get your hands dirty so that those who visit the space have a warm and orderly environment in which to perform, learn, and grow. Location: The Actors Theatre Workshop, 145 W. 28th Street, 3rd Floor (between 6th and 7th Avenue).
