WAYLAND, MA — We're heading into a complicated cold and flu season due to the coronavirus pandemic, and state health officials are urging residents to get flu vaccines as early as possible this year to avoid a potential "twindemic."
Wayland will kick off a series of free flu clinics this upcoming week for the entire community. A series of clinics for seniors was already held in September. The clinics will be held outside the municipal building, 41 Cochituate Road.
Residents will need to preregister before attending the clinics, accord to health officials. Here are the dates and times for the community-wide clinics:
Oct. 14, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.Oct. 21, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.Oct. 28, 2 to 7 p.m.Wayland officials say attendees should bring health insurance cards to offset the cost of the vaccines. There will also be limited doses of other vaccines to prevent pneumonia and tetanus, diphtheria and pertussis, also called Tdap.
