Basic CERT Course for COF Employees - Emergency Preparedness Training
During a major disaster, emergency services may be overwhelmed. Born from disasters in the mid-1980’s, CERT is a nationwide, FEMA-supported training aim to help YOU prepare for disasters. You will learn how to safely care for yourself, co-workers, family, and neighbors until help arrives.

Preparedness for you and your familyFire extinguisher useFirst aid in a disasterLight search and rescueHow to use the Incident Command System (ICS)Psychological needs following a disasterNext Class: Friday - Saturday, 5/20 & 5/21 - 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
Final Exercise: Sunday, 5/22 - 8:00 am - 4:00 pm

Attendees will receive a CERT vest, backpack, PPE. Upon graduation, you will have a new skill set and may be presented with opportunities to assist with department emergencies and police & fire department events in the city of Fontana.
