Inclusivity in the Classroom
Inclusive classrooms are becoming more important as our awareness of peoples, cultures and societies grow. There is a lot of information available but how exactly do we evaluate that information for accuracy and to avoid stereotypes, prejudice, and judgments on our students. How exactly do we accommodate different types of students in the easiest and most effective way possible? This in-person, hands-on workshop will explore how you can do start with small changes to make your classroom environment more inclusive. Participants will be asked to bring an artifact and will work in small groups to redesign classroom materials they can immediately use in their courses. At the conclusion of the course, participants will also explore additional resources related to inclusivity.
Space is limited. Snacks and light refreshments will be served.
