Description

MOKENA, IL — The Village of Mokena's second and final free leaf and branch pick-up for spring is set for Wednesday, according to the Village. Residents must contact the Village at (708) 479-3900 or via this link prior to the scheduled pick-up date to arrange for a pick up. Residents can also submit a request electronically by visiting the Village of Mokena website under "How Do I?" Village staff will collect only bagged leaves and branches no longer than 4 feet in length. Regular refuse, such as grass clippings and yard waste, will not be collected as part of the free leaf and branch pick-up program. Leaves may be bagged in either paper or plastic bags, although paper bags are preferred, according to the Village. Branches should be tied with twine or string. A branch length of 3 feet or less is optimal. Refuse toters or drum-type containers should not be used for leaves or branches. The Village will offer two more free leaf and branch pick-ups in the fall. For more information on yard waste pick ups, visit the Village of Mokena website.
