ELMHURST, IL – In the last few days, Elmhurst police handled cases involving road rage, a handgun found in a yard, cocaine possession, weapons charges, a bottle thrown at a car, a missing ring, a custody issue and a stolen phone. Here is information from the latest Elmhurst police reports: Road rage In an incident of road rage, a man got out of his vehicle, struck the driver's side window of another car and spat on the victim's vehicle about 5:30 p.m. Friday near Route 83 and North Avenue. The man was described as white, 60 to 70 years old, having a gray receding hairline, and wearing a tan jacket, black pants and black shoes. He was driving a white Lexus RX350, an SUV. Handgun found A resident in the 700 block of Eastland Street on Friday found a black handgun while doing yard work in her backyard Friday. The handgun was placed into evidence. Cocaine possession Jason Wilson, 41, of Lombard, was arrested about 2:30 p.m. Friday in the 300 block of North York on DuPage County Sheriff's Office warrants and charges of possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, criminal trespass to land and obstructing identification. According to a police report, Wilson had four crack pipes and cocaine. An unidentified woman was found with controlled substance pills, but was released, pending lab results of her pills. Wilson was taken to the DuPage County Jail. Weapons charges Johnny Manning, 32, of Bellwood, was arrested about 3 a.m. Sunday at SpringHill Suites, 410 W. Lake St., on charges of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon and possession of ammunition without a firearm owner's identification card. According to a police report, Manning, a guest at SpringHill, admitted to having marijuana and a gun inside his car without a valid FOID card. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail. Bottle thrown at car A man told police that three youths threw a water bottle at his car about 10 p.m. Thursday in the 100 block of West Park Avenue, striking the rear passenger side. The youths ran south through an alley. He said he did not know the youths. He said his car was not damaged, but wanted the incident documented. Suspects caught Officers helped Villa Park police search for three suspects who ran away from a stolen car about 10 p.m. Thursday near Roosevelt and York. The suspects were found and taken into custody. Repeated issues For six months, a resident in the 300 block of East Webster Avenue has found shards of glass throughout her property and driveway, causing flat tires. She informed police Friday. An investigation is pending. Second ring missing A person in the 100 block of Euclid Avenue noticed a diamond ring missing from a victim's finger Friday. This is the second ring to be reported missing within two weeks. Custody issue A resident in the 400 block of Emroy Avenue told police Friday that a man was in violation of court-ordered visitation because he refused to drop off their son at her home. An investigation is pending. Stolen phone A person left a Samsung Galaxy phone on a table about 10 p.m. Friday at Sky Zone, 325 W. Lake St. When the person returned, the phone was gone. Fugitive drivers An officer saw a white Ford F350 pickup truck displaying a license plate that did belong on the vehicle about 12:30 p.m. Saturday at North and Villa. The driver pulled into a parking lot at a cellphone repair store, and the driver got out and entered the business. The officer entered the store to speak with the driver. The store owner said the driver seemed nervous and left the store in an unknown direction. An officer tried to stop the driver of a stolen Ford about 1 p.m. Thursday at North and York. The driver sped away. Missing person Police were told about 8 p.m. Sunday about a missing endangered person who was last seen leaving work in downtown Elmhurst. Officers found the person at Addison and First. The person was taken to Elmhurst Hospital. Driving violations Felix Trejo, 58, of Chicago, was cited about 10 a.m. Saturday at Route 83 and St. Charles on charges of no valid driver's license, failure to wear a seat belt and unlawful use of a phone. He was released on bond. Police report information is provided by local police departments. Charges are not evidence of guilt. They are a record of police actions on a given day, and people charged with a crime are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
