After a two-year hiatus, American Muslims are once again Celebrating Eid without any Pandemic restrictions. On Monday May 02nd 2022 millions of Muslims from across the world including all the cities of the USA marked the end of Ramadan with food, festivities, and Eid greetings. Gathering and Prayers were held in more than 200 places across Chicagoland. The Federal, state and city government issued a special message and greeting for Muslims on the occasion of Eid. Like most countries in the world, Eid-ul-Fitr is being celebrated with religious fervor in the United states of America on Monday. Eid al-Fitr prayers were held in the mosques of every small and big city in the USA in which thousands of people participated. Mosque Foundation, Bridgeview, Illinois is one of the oldest mosques in Illinois and is the only mosque in Illinois where two of the five daily prayers are given through loudspeaker twice a day while in winter days It is permissible to offer Zuhr, Asr and Maghrib prayers from the mosque through loudspeaker three times a day. The Muslim scholars emphasized the need for unity, solidarity and stability of the Muslim Ummah in the Eid prayer gatherings and prayed for peace in the world. A large gathering of Eid-ul-Fitr prayers took place at the Seat Geek Stadium in Bridgeview attended by a 12,000 of local Muslim communities. Chicago area physicians and the health department had urged people to exercise restraint and adhere to health protocols because many countries battle the several types of COVID-19 variant. Last two years in a row, Muslims in the Chicago area observed Eid prayers without any hugging or shaking hands. But this year they allowed hugging or shaking hands. Any way hugging or shaking hands is not a part of Eid prayers. It is most likely traditional expression of greeting Many congregations' places request worshippers to bring their own prayer mats to perform prayers because overcrowded The Islamic Center of Naperville, Masjid Al-Huda in Schaumburg, Islamic Foundation in Villa Park, Islamic Foundation North in Libertyville, Muslim Community Center in Morton Grove, and several others offered multiple and open-air prayers.
