Here are the top stories today in Southampton: According to local, county, and state law enforcement, after there were repeated community complaints of drug dealing in the area, an investigation was launched in Riverhead earlier this year. Four local men were arrested on a slew of charges after police found "a significant quantity of heroin along with crack cocaine," police said. No return court dates have been announced. (Daily Voice)Tuesday morning, about 4:40 a.m., police said an employee at the Crescent Duck Farm in Aquebogue contacted the department realizing that another person was inside the main building. Police said that surveillance footage showed one male suspect, wearing a hooded sweatshirt, a mask and gloves, searching through the building and removing a "small amount" of money from an office within the building. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the Riverhead Police at 631-727-4500. (RiverheadLOCAL)District Attorney Ray Tierney said Tuesday, on April 21, two days after the home invasion where a teen raped a Mastic Beach mom, a teen was brought to the police station where he admitted taking part in the burglary. The suspect consented to a DNA test which later matched to a profile developed from a swab of the victim. The teen was indicted and charged with first-degree rape, criminal sexual act, and sexual abuse, as well as two counts of first-degree assault and burglary.
