AGOURA HILLS, CA — Conejo Valley residents on Tuesday will take to The Promenade at Westlake to protest a Supreme Court draft opinion released on Monday indicating Roe v. Wade could be overturned.
Politico on Monday said it obtained a draft of a majority Supreme Court decision indicating the court voted to strike down Roe v. Wade, the 1973 ruling that made abortion legal in all 50 states.
Protesters will meet at 5 p.m. at the intersection of Westlake Boulevard and Thousand Oaks Boulevard, according to nonprofit advocacy group Indivisible: Conejo, which organized the protest alongside Women United for Change.
"SCOTUS' apparent decision to strike down Roe v. Wade means it's time for the nation to show up for abortion rights! Today we rise to demand action from our officials to preserve a woman's right to choose," Indivisible: Conejo said in a protest flyer circulated on Twitter.
Protests were organized across the state, including San Francisco and Los Angeles, as a crowd immediately gathered at the Supreme Court Monday evening and Tuesday morning.
