NEW YORK, NY — Gov. Andrew Cuomo said New York City, Long Island and the Hudson Valley are all on track to enter the next phases of reopening businesses in the coronavirus era.
New York City is on track to begin phase two of reopening businesses Monday, Cuomo said at his daily briefing Wednesday. The Mid-Hudson region is expected to begin phase three Tuesday, followed by Long Island on Wednesday.
The third phase allows for limited indoor restaurant service and allows personal care businesses to resume operations, including tattoo and piercing facilities, appearance-enhancement practitioners, massage therapy, spas, cosmetology, nail specialty, UV and non-UV tanning, and waxing.
New York continues to see declining coronavirus-related hospitalizations and deaths, Cuomo said, unlike 20 other states that have seen increases.
"We don't change the rules for New York City, we don't change the rules for Long Island," Cuomo said.
