WATERTOWN, MA — Scammers are using the new coronavirus to target residents. Watertown police warned about a Craigslist ad they were alerted to by a resident. The ad claims a brother duo is looking to use their consulting services to help teach people how to prevent contracting and spreading the coronavirus. The ad says the pair will "inspect your living conditions," and offer recommendations. Watertown police said, "If you receive an offer/ad, such as pictured below, check the validity of it by emailing it to the WPD at [email protected]." Be aware of scams offering false services related to COVID 19. Below is an example of a craigslist scam that was forwarded to the WPD today.
