The knockers will claim to be from Optimum Readers Service and try to sell residents magazines at their home. Police said the people will claim they work for a second chance program, and have said they were "fundraising for the Watertown Boys & Girls Club" or for people struggling with domestic violence, or people out of work. Watertown police said it was a scam and to call police if they are seen in your neighborhood. Anyone who solicits door to door in Watertown must check in with the police department first. If you are not sure, always call police to confirm the legitimacy of the solicitor.
