I've seen this one ad where the person puts up so many hurdles to find the exact right person that I would think it's impossible to find a fit. I'm with you on the open mics and meetups - I found some super awesome players at a couple of them (Darrell's on Sunday and Hidden Door on Wednesdays) both through the Seattle Jams Meetup.
