University of Idaho Journeyman Electrician Location: Moscow Division/College: Facilities Management Employee Category: Classified Pay Range: $23.69 per hour or higher depending on experience and education FTE: 1 Full/Part Time: Full Time Position Summary: Under the general supervision of the Electrical Supervisor, the incumbent performs journey-level maintenance, installation and repair of electrical and electronic systems; including components and equipment required for properly functioning electrical, lighting, HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing and safety systems and other specialized equipment. This is an essential position that will be called upon in the event of an emergency and/or University Closure. Experience working with: HVAC, safety, security and entry control systems; and recognized codes and requirements for fire detection and suppression such as NFPA, UBC, UL and UFC. Experience utilizing national electrical code and electrical safety practices. Preferred Qualifications: Ability to operate a boom truck, line truck and forklift. Physical Requirements & Working Conditions: Ability to lift and carry or otherwise move items weighing approximately 50 pounds, climb ladders, bend, stoop, and work in awkward positions for several hours at a time. Crawl through small tunnels that are hot, muddy, and wet. Some positions may require working in confined spaces which necessitates participation in a medical surveillance program and respirator fit test. Ability to respond to emergency calls in a reasonable time and serve on weekend call out duty on a regular rotation. Required Licensures, Certifications or other Must be a licensed Journeyman Electrician in accordance with Idaho Code, Title 54, Chapter 10. Must possess: valid motor vehicle operators license and be able to meet policy requirements for driving University vehicles.
