QUALIFICATIONS: Basic knowledge of construction process Working knowledge of a safe use of power tools Working knowledge of personal / hand tools, including nail bags, hammer, cat’s paw, tape measure, speed square, level, chalk line OBJECTIVE: Assist lead carpenter in performance of assigned tasks, including tear out/ demolition, insulation, drywall, framing, and other tasks as assigned. Learn/ expand knowledge base by assisting with tasks with the aim of gaining ability to perform tasks independently. RESPONSIBILITIES: Be at assigned job location at assigned time, some overtime work is expected, on call schedule will be assigned. Be ready to work, take direction, accept instruction and correction with the aim of increasing skill and knowledge. Follow through on assigned tasks to completion with a high quality standard. Look for and accomplish tasks related to construction process without direction- take initiative. Work independently and productively when not supervised. Be courteous and professional in all interactions Take initiative to perform work and learn processes to further personal and professional growth and company profit. Seek help /instruction from lead carpenter and project manager for unfamiliar tasks.
