Douglas Island Pink and Chum, Inc. (DIPAC) is now accepting applications for seasonal Fish Technician positions at both Macaulay and Snettisham Salmon Hatchery. The seasonal technician position is an entry-level labor position in which incumbents will assist permanent staff in a variety of fish culture duties. Projects include but are not limited to: feeding fish, cleaning rearing containers, assisting in gamete collection, maintaining incubators, and harvesting adults. Persons must be physically fit and able to push, pull, and lift up to 50 pounds and carry it up to 100 feet repeatedly, be able to work in exposed conditions with inclement weather, as well as, being willing to work in conditions that are often cold and dark. Possession of a valid driver's license with a good driving record is preferred.
