BRANDON, FL —As of May 7, Hillsborough County has a total of 1,280 positive coronavirus cases, according to the Florida Department of Health, and 33 deaths. The state has 38,002 confirmed cases and 1,539 deaths, reports the Florida Department of Health. There have been 6,557 hospitalizations across the state. The median age in Hillsborough County is 45. In a Tweet sent out Thursday by the Florida Department of Health, it said, "It is not always visible if someone has a compromised immune system. You can protect the most vulnerable from #COVID19 by practicing social distancing. Always maintain at least 6 feet between yourself and others."
